Worsted Weight Yarn
J Crochet Hook

Finished slipper fits an average size woman.9 inches long and 8 * 1/2 inches around...They are very stretchy however.

To make them bigger I adjust size by adding more stitches at the beginning, doubling the yarn and using a size K hook, and/or adding rows.

Just keep the ratio the same. Two more rows in the toe section than the heel.
To make them smaller I usually just use a smaller hook.Working in rounds for toe part

Toe Section..this part is worked in rounds..

Round 1: Chain 4, 11 double crochet in 4th chain from hook, join with slip stitch around beginning chain 3 .

Round 2: Chain 3, 1 double crochet in same space, 2 double crochet in top of remaining 11 stitches of this round, join with slip stitch around beginning chain 3.....(24 stitches for rest of pattern at the completion of each round or row).

Round 3: Chain 3 *front post double crochet around next double crochet, double crochet in top of next double crochet, repeat from * slip stitch around beginning chain 3....

Rounds 4 - 11: Repeat round 3.............From this point you will work in rows....

Heel Section..this part is worked in rows..
(you will have 23 stitches for entire heel section)

Row 12: Chain 3, * front post double crochet around next double crochet, double crochet in top of next double crochet, repeat from *, end with a double crochet in top of the last plain double crochet, leaving the last front post double crochet unworked. turn....

Row 13: Chain 3 *back post double crochet around next double crochet, double crochet in top of next double crochet, repeat from* to chain 3, double crochet around the chain 3, turn....

Row 14: Chain 3*front post double crochet around next double crochet, double crochet in top of next double crochet, repeat from* to chain three, double crochet around the chain 3, turn....

Row 15-20: Repeat rows 13 & 14....Slip Stitch your slipper together.

You will now turn it so that you will work this round; around the ankle.

Chain 2, work a half double crochet in each space around the ankle section. Slip stitch together.

Leaving a long enough length of yarn to sew the heel of your slipper together, cut the yarn.
Sew the heel together, tuck in ends.

Make second slipper.

For Ties: Chain 50, slip stitch to middle stitch at the ankle on back of slipper, chain 52 stitches, cut yarn and pull it through the last chain.

Trim the ends of yarn on the ends of the chain.done.....My family love these and they couldn't be quicker or easier.....

Spiral Scrubbie updated 6/24/09)

By Judith Prindle 3/05

You tube video by Donna Here!

My crochet version is 20 stitches by 22 rows.

I used:
size H crochet hook
worsted weight acrylic yarn (doesn't take much)

Gauge: didn't check but my finished scrubbie is
about 3 & 1/2 across if you squish it flat!

Crochet in the back loop through out to create the ridge.

Row 1:
(leaving a length of yarn long enough to weave
through & gather one edge and tie off.)
chain 21: 2 single crochet in second chain from hook,
crochet one single crochet in each chain across
to last 2 chains; crochet the last 2 chains together
chain 1 and turn (20 stitches)
Row 2:
single crochet first 2 stitches together,
crochet one single crochet in each stitch across to last stitch, 2 single crochet in last stitch
chain 1 and turn (20 stitches)
Row 3:
2 single crochet in first stitch,
crochet one single crochet in each stitch across to last 2 stitches, single crochet last 2 stitches together chain1 and turn (20 stitches).
Repeat rows 2 &3 for a total of 21 rows.
Cut yarn leaving this second end long enough to weave through & gather one edge then tie off.
Slip stitch beginning row and ending row together.
Using the end of yarn weave each end in and out of the ends of the rows of the edge it is attached to. Pull them tight.
Now pull one yarn end through the scrubbie and tie in a tight knot.
Pull both ends back through to the other side and knot again.
I simply pull the end to the inside of the scrubbie and back out, making sure to leave a length of
tail on the inside I cut.
I don't try to weave the ends through the stitches themselves.
I have been using some of my scrubbies since February and no ends have popped out yet.
On my earliest scrubbies I left the yarn tails long enough to crochet a chain to hang them with.
I find I don't use the hanger so I don't do that
any more, but you could!

Baby Boots

These boots look like this.

©Judith Prindle 06/16/2009

Baby Soft Yarn
F Hook
Gauge: The finished newborn bootie is 3 & 1/2 inches long.
The width is not important because the boot is very stretchy, and if it is
still too tight at the top, it can be folded down.
Chain 47
Heel:
Row 1: Single crochet in 2nd chain from hook and each remaining chain,
chain 1 and turn. (46 stitches)
Rows 2-10: Working in back loops, single crochet in same stitch as turn,
and next 19 stitches,
working in both loops, single crochet in next 6 stitches,
working in back loops, single crochet in next 20 stitches, chain 1 and turn.
(20 stitches in back loops, 6 stitches in both loops, 20 stitches in back loops,
46 stitches in all)
Cut yarn, and join in back loop of 13th stitch with slip stitch.
Toe:
Row 1: Working in back loop single, crochet in same stitch as slip stitch and in next
7 stitches,
working in both loops single crochet in next 6 stitches,
working in back loops single crochet in next 8 stitches, chain 1 and turn.
(8 stitches in back loops, 6 stitches in both loops, 8 stitches in back loops
22 stitches in all)
Row 2: Working in back loops, single crochet 1st 2 stitches together, single crochet
in next 6 stitches,
working in both loops, crochet in next 6 stitches,
working in back loops, single crochet in next 6 stitches, single crochet
last 2 stitches together, chain 1 and turn.
(7 stitches in back loops, 6 stitches in both loops, 7 stitches in back loops
20 stitches in all)
Row 3: Working in back loops, single crochet in 7 stitches,
working in both loops single crochet in next 6 stitches,
working in back loops single crochet in next 7 stitches, chain 1 and turn.
(7 stitches in back loops, 6 stitches in both loops, 7 stitches in back loops
20 stitches in all)
Row 4: Working in back loops, single crochet 1st 2 stitches together, single crochet
in next 5 stitches,
working in both loops single crochet in next 6 stitches,
working in back loops single crochet in next 5 stitches,
single crochet last 2 stitches together, chain 1 and turn.
(6 stitches in back loops, 6 stitches in both loops, 6 stitches in back loops
18 stitches in all)
Rows 5-8: Working in back loop single, crochet in same stitch as turn, and in next
5 stitches,
working in both loops single crochet in next 6 stitches,
working in back loops single crochet in next 6 stitches, chain 1 and turn.
(6 stitches in back loops, 6 stitches in both loops, 6 stitches in back loops
18 stitches in all)
Row 9: Working back loops, single crochet 2 together 3 times,
working in both loops single crochet 2 together 3 times,
working back loops, single crochet 2 together 3 times. (9 stitches)
You can cut the yarn here and draw the yarn through all toe stitches,
pull tight and sew up the front of the boot,
or join boot together with a sc up the front, then run yarn through
the toe stitches & pull tight, secure.
I prefer the latter but it doesn't really matter which method you use.
You can work the toe part in the round like this slipper if you want,
just decrease as instructed.
You also have a seam to sew up the back.
Make tie. I will include the instructions for this soon.

Materials;
# 10 cotton thread sizes g & f crochet hooks1 drawstring stopper (optional)

Gauge;
Not critical but mine is,4 double crochet & 4 chain 2 spaces= 2 inchesMy bag is about 10 inches across at it's widest and8 inches long.

Notes;
This bag will be worked in the round without joininguntil the last round. You may use a stitch marker at the beginning of therounds if you want, but I just marked the beginning side of the bag.

With g hook:
chain 2

Round 1; 6 single crochet in the second chain.

Round 2-?; 2 double crochet in each stitch around until you have
a total of 40 double crochet.

Next Round; chain 2, 1 double crochet in next stitch around.

When you reach the first chain 2, proceed as follows
* 1 double crochet in chain 2, chain 2, repeat from * until
your bag is as long as you want (or 8 inches like mine),
ending on the beginning side of the bag.

Change to f hook;

Next Round; 2 single crochet in each chain 2 space around.
Join with slip stitch in first single crochet.
Last round; chain 1, slip stitch in next single crochet around.
Join with slip stitch in first slip stitch of this round.
Cut thread and hide ends.

With f hook for tie;
Leaving the end long enough to be included in the tassel,
make a chain about 24 inches long, slip stitch in each chain.

Cut yarn leaving the end long enough to be used in the tassel.
If you are using a drawstring stopper, feed the string through
it then make tassel type fringe on both ends of the string.
You will find instructions here;

HOW TO MAKE A TASSEL

if you need them.

If you are not using a stopper, I suggest that you slip stitch the
drawstring fast to the back of the bag when it is about 12 inches
long, then continue with another 12 inches.

Finish your tie the same as above.
